How to use Voittr
Listen, explore the map, record a moment, and choose who can hear it. A practical guide to Voittr.
Voittr is a place-based audio social app. Listen to voices and environmental sounds, record a moment, and pin it to a place.
Listen to public recordings
Open the Public feed to hear recent recordings. Open a recording and press Play. You can browse public recordings without signing in. Sign in to follow people, reply, react, or record.
Explore a place and time
Open the Map. Choose an area and adjust the time range to find recordings made there. You can explore manually without sharing your device location. Nearby discovery uses location permission when you allow it. What you hear depends on the recordings available in that place and time.
Find people
Open Explore and search by username. Open a profile to hear its public recordings, read its bio, and follow that person. Following is available after signing in.
Record and choose an audience
Use the recording control in Voittr to capture your voice or surroundings. Review the recording, location and audience before posting. Posting requires a location.
- Public: the recording is discoverable and attributed to your profile.
- Followers: access is limited by the recording's follower audience rules.
- Private: access is limited to you and the recipients you choose.
- Anonymous: publicly discoverable without profile attribution. The audio, place or content can still identify a speaker or location.
Public links, previews and embedded players show only what a signed-out visitor can access. A recording's current audience controls access. External services may retain previews they fetched earlier.
Share a recording
Use Share from a recording, profile or thread. Recording links use https://voittr.com/clips/ followed by the recording ID. Profile links use https://voittr.com/@ followed by the username. Thread links use https://voittr.com/threads/ followed by the thread ID.
The Voittr Link Player can turn these links into inline players in Chrome and Safari on websites you allow. Private recordings remain protected.
Manage your account
Open Settings to manage your profile, notifications, data export or account deletion. You can also request deletion without the app.
